The Position: Bike Sales

The Village Sport Shop, located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, has been family owned and operated for 35 years.We are a year-round sporting goods business with primary focuses on biking and skiing as well as hunting and fishing.Owners work alongside the employees to create a unique, inviting, encouraging environment.We are skiers, bikers and outdoorsmen (and women) and we enjoy sharing our passion and educating our customers so they will have the best possible experience. We offer sales, service and rentals.Currently our offering is 80% mountain bikes, 15% kids bikes, and we recently expanded into road.Our customers range from avid mountain bikers to comfort cruisers. The Village Sport Shop is located just miles from the Kingdom Trails network (which offers over 100 miles of superb cross country mountain biking in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, as well as the developing Burke Mountain Downhill Bike Park). The Village Sport Shop has an opening for someone to lead our bike sales department.The right person will be passionate about mountain biking, knowledgeable about mountain biking trends, have a complex technical understanding of bicycles (especially mountain bikes), be positive, motivated, and outgoing.We are, by no means, a big box store; we pride ourselves on offering a comfortable and unique shopping environment where customers receive individualized attention and information. Day to day responsibilities will include: -Selling bikes and bike accessories -Merchandising, restocking and assisting with ordering bikes and bike accessories -Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of product lines and industry trends through self-education and company provided training opportunities. -Sharing knowledge with other employees to enhance their ability to assist customers -Work with fellow employees (including those from other departments) to provide a smooth experience for our customers. -Assist owners with interpreting local and industry trends to maintain progressive growth and development of the bike business.
