Train retail associates about DeLorme products; training visits will require extensive travel to customer sites.

Maintain a master list of all doors and their classification (A, B, or C door) within territory.

Provide and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through professional, courteous, and attentive oral and written communication skills.

Manage and maintain a territory of unique dealers across various channels of distribution, including clinic calendars, and clinic and event summary reports

Requires thorough DeLorme product knowledge and ability to represent the company well in front of buyers and end-users. Ability to create presentations and speak intelligently and confidently in front of customers.

Work with the other retail account reps and the trainers in coordinating events that maximize staff time while minimizing travel expenses.

Set schedule for training and store visits in designated territory.

Manage and implement merchandising and retail compliance for ads and point of purchase programs.

Maintain detailed records of store visits and subsequent sales results of training activity. Recommend and support monthly/quarterly marketing campaigns.

Escalate critical sales and service issues to ensure management is aware of any positive or negative impact to our customers.

Maintain complete product knowledge to be able to clearly state and demonstrate product functions and features to customers.

Represent DeLorme at trade shows as needed.

Participate in beta testing as needed.

Coordinate with marketing on development of POP and merchandising displays, based on request from the field.

Monitor and report requests of POP and merchandising by major retailers to improve product visibility, awareness, and message to customers

Monitor results and provide suggestions on DeLorme’s trade show and event schedule.

Monitor and provide feedback on POP and merchandising displays of competitive products.

Provide feedback on product improvements suggested by retailer associates.

Previous experience and/or passion for one or all of the following markets: outdoor recreation, hunting and fishing, aviation and or marine markets.

Requires a two-year degree and two to four years of sales experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Conversant in company products and sales policies and procedures

Ability and desire to sell and train on innovative products for the outdoor market

Solid public speaking and training/teaching skills.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheet, databases and presentation software.

Ability to adapt to quickly to changing priorities and to organize and schedule workflow to meet deadlines.

A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
