The Position: Mechanical Engineer
Stan’s NoTubes is seeking a motivated, creative and detail oriented engineer with excellent communications skills to join our team in State College, Pennsylvania.
Summary
Work with the product development team to create new and innovative products for the bicycle industry. Apply engineering principles to research, develop and test components. Assist with bringing product from concept to full production.
Responsibilities
- Assist in development of new product and refinement of existing product
- Create 2D drawings and 3D models for production
- Perform preliminary FEA of new components
- Create test plans and execute testing procedures
- Design test fixtures and production tooling as necessary
- Create/maintain technical product literature & specifications
- Create production work instructions as necessary
- Update legacy drawings to new drawing system
Qualifications and Experience
- BSME or equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 3 years experience in the outdoor, automotive or aerospace industry preferred
- Minimum 2 years 3D modeling experience, Solidworks preferred
- Working knowledge of modern bicycle wheels required
- Experience with basic FEA and GD&T a plus
- Proven experience translating product concepts to finished product
- Excellent communication skills including technical writing
- Demonstrated ability for creative problem solving
