The Position: Manager - Outfitter's Store

Job Title:        Manager – Outfitter’s Store                                          Deadline: 1/17/2013

Season:            Full time, year round  

 

Primary Functions of the Position:

            Oversee and maintain final responsibility for the store budget and inventory

·         Creates budgets for payroll, supplies, fixtures, revenue, etc.

·         Has final responsibility for insuring that budgets are met

·         Creates implements and monitors all inventory guidelines regarding inventory levels, inventory control, etc.

 

            Drafts, implements and enforces adherence to policies and guidelines

·         Handles the creation of all new structure and guidelines, as well as policy and procedure

·         Ensures compliance with existing company policies and practices

 

            Supports and directs all staff

·         Provides job descriptions and clear expectations for all supervised positions

·         Serves as a resource for in store product trends and advise product assortment

·         Schedules and facilitates all staff meetings, including management meetings, and store-wide meetings

 

            Directly responsible for personnel issues        

·         Responsible for hiring all new store staff

·         Works with company management team to create training programs and standards

·         Handles all aspects of performance evaluation

·         Final responsibility for all salary changes, promotions, disciplinary actions and dismissals

 

            Works on the sales floor         

·         Serves as front line employee in assisting in sales, stocking, displays, registers, etc.

 

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5 years management experience in outdoor retail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of analytical skills regarding spreadsheet data, industry trends, and personnel issues, etc.
• Requires strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with manufacturers reps, customers, staff, company VP’s and Board members in a constructive and supportive manner
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
• Detail oriented and highly organized
