The Position: Marketing Director

Director of Marketing – Optrix Inc.

Optrix, a world leader in action sports video cases for iPhone, is looking for a Director of Marketing. This small but rapidly growing company is based in Marin County, California.

 

Position will be reporting directly to the CEO. This will be a very hands-on and multifaceted role in a start-up environment. Applicant would ideally possess an entrepreneurial nature, start-up/small company experience, and will need to be able to work independently with little oversight.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, execute and manage marketing plan, teams and budget 
• Grow online social media presence and user base i.e. Facebook likes, Twitter followers, etc
• Manage and oversee website content, creation, and promotions 
• Create and manage PR relationships, contests, and grass roots marketing 
• Lead the creation and execution of marketing programs and strategies to generate online sell-through
• Create and maintain marketing and sales collateral (adhering to style guides) for internal and external use
• Develop protocol for media asset storage and sharing, work with team to schedule video and photo shoots to keep the pipeline filled 

• 1 new video review per week
• 1 new text review per week
• Multiple new FB/Twitter posts per day

POSITION DETAILS

• Position will be located in our San Rafael office
• Some travel required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of marketing experience
• Strong knowledge of social media and social media marketing
• Strong knowledge or participation in action sports is a bonus
• Experience in “outdoor sports” industry encouraged
• Experience in the mobile space a plus

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors Degree in Business/Marketing, or relevant mix of education and experience
