The Position: Buyer
The Sportsman’s Guide (TSG) is an international direct retailer of outdoor sporting goods, with special emphasis on hunting and outdoor equipment, clothing and footwear. Established in 1977, TSG currently serves over 1.2 million customers annually, generates over $300 million in annual revenues.
TSG is currently looking for a Footwear Buyer in our Merchandising Department. This position is responsible for buying high volumes of new product annually, as well as managing a substantial product bank of existing products. You be will handle product and contract negotiations including pricing, terms, lead-times, inventory programs and liabilities. You will also be accountable for achieving or exceeding budget sales, margin and service level goals, and for ensuring inventory levels remain optimized.
Requirements:
4 + years of experience in Buying, Forecasting, Planning, or Inventory Control with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with a strong understanding of how to manage a supply chain and how to identify and improve various cost elements within the supply chain. Strong negotiating skills and the ability to work in a fast paced atmosphere is required.
