Denali/Trailblazer is a multi-store outdoor outfitter based in Connecticut and with locations in Connecticut and Rhode Island. The Training Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of in-store training related to product knowledge, salesmanship, customer service and information related to daily operational procedures. The TC will collaborate with all business partners, including store managers, department heads and vendor representatives to prepare, implement and revisit a quarterly/annual training schedule/plan for all store locations.
Key Qualifications / Requirements
Ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a Trainer within the outdoor or athletic retail or wholesale industry and possess substantial verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Candidate must have a passion to learn and teach with strong presentation (classroom delivery) and facilitation skills.
Project management experience (and/or strong planning and organizational skills) with a proven ability to work within schedules and deadlines. Candidate should be skilled with computers and smartphones with working knowledge of Powerpoint and Excel.
The ability to self start, follow through, coach, reinforce and team build are required.
Candidate must feel comfortable working in a mobile environment (visit different store location every day)
Experience with Retail Pro point of sale system a plus.
The primary responsibility of the Training Coordinator is to continuously address training needs at multiple store locations and to ensure high caliber delivery. TC would develop and implement a quarterly training schedule/plan and coordinate it with all participants to ensure maximum impact within established timeframes. The TC must demonstrate expert knowledge of training topics and effectively communicate this information to staff of different abilities and knowledge levels. In addition, TC must encourage continuous staff growth through consistently monitoring and sharing updated product information and best business practices. Building strong partnerships with key stakeholders and collaborating across the organization is paramount to succeeding in this position.
